This shot looks like it came out of a box of old photos, but it is less than a week old.
The scene was nice, but I was after the sheets of ground fog moving across the field.
It was so thick with fog yesterday here Sandy. Now I wished I’d gone out and photographed it. I like this image. It’s has a melancholy feel I think. Carol
Yes, you should have, Carol. We had a mystical experience while traveling through Kentucky in the early morning fog. Imagine dense white fog, and endless bright red cardinals! It was one of those Did we really see that? times.
Sandy,
This photo does seem so tranquil and calm.
I love all the evergreen trees in the back of the house, just lovely.
And I can see the fog very well in the photo.

Mist enables us to see again what we thought we already knew so well–it shows us beginnings and endings and has us guess the inbetweens. This is a magical scene.
What a gorgeous shot Sandy .. I love fog for the special affect it has on scenery .. this looks interesting and wonderful and “old” all at once!
Like the robin shot .. the sun was bright and behind the tree so it looks black and white with such strong back lighting.
Hey .. it is warm and raining here .. heaven knows what is next ?
Joy
I will tell you Joy. We have had rain, and fog all day. After supper tonight, I took the trash out, and nearly went flying off the porch. Freezing fog!!
I love the little hints of blue and other color in the ice…
Hey Sandy girl !
I am actually terrible with what journal I have tried to keep from last year’s garden .. I feel like I write so many small notes and have them scattered every where .. my hope is that once number one son finally moves out I will have a garden office that I can spread my “stuff” out and then truly become organized .. for a few moments ? LOL
Joy
PS … I would love to keep better photo journals too ! I want to move on to special affects with textures (like yours which are amazing girl !) later next year to play with over the winter season .. how is that for advanced planning ? hahaha
this is an excellent photo, very pleasing
Thanks, Robert. I haven’t done a lot with black and white, but want to learn.
what a stunning photo..love it
Thank you! I love watching the mist rise up, and then move ghost like across the field.

The snow has dignity and makes us calm.
I love that sentence! Thank you.
Wonderful monochrome. I like this a lot.
Thanks, my husband didn’t recognize the view!

I understand about the trees, the evergreen woods has the same affect on me. Tomorrow, I will post another Maine winter tree shot for you.
There’s that magical mist again, transforming an ordinary scene into a dreamscape.
Yes, isn’t it neat?
Love the feel of this one, and the others too!
Peace,
Laz
Thank you! There is nothing like a foggy morning for atmosphere.

That is so true! It is the inbetweens that I find so interesting.
I like the old feeling of the photo! Nice!
The actual shot didn’t really have a lot of color, so it wasn’t much of a stretch to do it this way.
Looking at this makes me feel like I am in Jackman…oh, the memories of scenes such as this!
That because the town is a collection of stories to you, not just a place with buildings.
Great shot! I love the “old” look it has!
Now, if I had wanted to create an “old” shot, I probably couldn’t have done it. Go figure!

I am really enjoying your black and white photos lately, Sandy. This is a very evocative scene once again.
I am just beginning to get some practice with it. Hopefully, you will see more.
I went back to look at the skating crows but it was not a B &W like I remembered. Weird that I thought it was.
It did look like it, but that was just from the fog.
I love the little hints of blue and other color in the ice…

You managed to keep all those photos together, that is something.
Wow – moody and gorgeous!
