-4º last night.
Fresh snow on the ground from yesterday’s storm.
I went outoudoors when the temperature got up to 2º
A squirrel had already been to the feeder.
That was my guess. I see them running in from the woods all the time. We have lots of eagles nwo, and hawkes, so they have to fly across the open space between the feeders and the woods.
Very nice! I see tracks behind my house all the time. Different kinds, and shame on me for not checking them out and figuring out what they are. I need to bring my Dad here. He is such a wealth of information.
I really like the beautiful snow in this picture and the blue cast as well, very pretty!
I’ve never seen squirrels hop, but it sure looks like they must have.
It’s nice to see you are having some snow.
Brenda
Thanks! Living at the edge of the woods, we get lots of tracks in the winter. The deer seem to need to cross the road every night, and lately coyotes prowl around the yards after dark.
Squirrel tracks? does it hop in the snow? I’ve never seen a squirrel in snow so have no idea…

Very cold but looks very beautiful. I guess that you can ski.
No, but I have snowshoed. which is fun, too.

I am not all that great with tracks, but I see the squirrels all the time. They are sure are brave little guys, or else very hungry.
Sandy please bundle up good if you go out in that weather. Dangerously cold. Love this image. Love it. Carol
I hate to be cold, so you can bet on it. The cold comes and goes. Today, the temperature is up near 40º, with rain.

Quite often, all four feet are off the ground at the same tiime, when they are moving fast. This is enough snow for me. T
I love seeing creatures’ footsteps in the snow! Wonderful.

I love this one, Sandy. Wonderful image.
Thank you Katie. The snow is beautiful in the first hours.
That’s a great perspective! I can just see that squirrel making first tracks.
Boy, are we getting a squirrels this year! The trail is busy all day.
The snow still looks perfect and pure even with these tracks.
That is because it was brand new. We had two storms this week, the last one on Saturday.
Seeing animal tracks in fresh snow is one of my favorite things, Sandy. I like the play of light here.
I can barely see the tracks now. We had both sun and warm temperatures today. Our January thaw.
Oh I love this, very cool photo, no pun intended.
The sunny photo at my blog yesterday was from the archives Sandy, from last summer! We are finally having a bit of sun today, heavenly.
Hope all is well.
