a sunrise and a sunset for SWF

These photos were taken last Thursday and Friday. The sunrise is just as it came up. But, the sunset on Friday the 13th, is a sandwich of two shots.  I shot the crows against a clear sky earlier in the day. This was one of those  breathtaking sunsets that managed to color the whole sky.

chokecherries

Has anyone else noticed all the cherries and berries around this fall? I don’t remember so many other years. I wonder if that could be a sign of a hard winter? If so, I am glad the birds will have them, but would be happier if we had a gentle winter.

city flowers

My friend, Hazel and I went to Portland yesterday to visit a silversmith up on the east end, near the water. The weather was sunny and warm, so we walked a while, just looking at the old buildings. Surprised to see flowers still blooming in a court yard of an old stone church on November 16, I snapped a couple of shots. Mums or asters? I am not sure. But, I do know they are beautiful, and need to be shared.
