the healing garden in fall

One day last week, I visited by the healing garden at the Scarborough campus of the Maine Medical Center while my friend was inside getting a mammogram. Wow, was I surprised at the difference since my last visit, just after it was built.

The garden has settled in beautifully to the surroundings. It was pretty in the summer, but I love the fall view of it even better. See those low red shrubs? They are cottoneaster, and I will definitely have some in my garden next year. I would have shown some close-ups of the plants, but my battery died after the third shot, and my spare, instead of being in my Coolpix camera case, was still plugged into the charger, tucked away in the drawer!  The garden is located just to he left of the back entrance to the building.
